Clay School
Clay School meets at Frank Massarella's Firehouse Pottery, Gallery & Clay School at 109 S. Montgomery St. in Ojai, CA. Sign up now for the Summer 2009 and Fall 2009 sessions: Summer session starts the week of July 13 and continues until September 19. Fall session starts the week of October 5 and continues until December 19. Our ten week session includes one 3 hour lesson per week with 5 open studio days every week where students can take advantage of practice time in the studio. Our class schedule is as follows: Monday 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Beginning Wheel Throwing & Intro Hand Building with Rob Luongo. Tuesday 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Advanced Beginning Wheel Throwing with Trevor Lare. Wednesday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Hand-Building with Dusti Pelow. Wednesday 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Intermediate Wheel Throwing with Frank Massarella. Wednesday 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Intro to Hand Building with Dusti Pelow. Thursday 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Frank's Mud Maniacs (upon placement.) Saturday 9 a.m. - 12 noon. Advanced Beg/Intermediate with Frank Massarella. The Open Studio hours for Students are: Wednesday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Students receive 25 pounds of clay and 1 cubic foot of kiln space with tuition. Additional kiln space can be purchased for $25 per cubic foot. Additional clay can be purchased for $10 and $15 per 25 pound bag. Tuition is $375 for the 10 week session. Beginners will need to own their own tools. A complete kit of tools with bucket and clean up sponge is available for $25. One does not have to buy them from us but you must have a complete set. No borrowing amongst students is allowed as it simply doesn't work. Tuition must be received in full prior to the first class. Checks, Credit Cards and Cash accepted. Refund/Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel a class or workshop, every effort will be made to fill your space. If the space is filled, we will return your fee, less $30 for administration costs. No refunds will be made for cancellations less than 1 week before a class or workshop. If you miss a class, it can usually be made up during another scheduled class.
